Agent Biography

Michele’s innate passion for helping others has continually inspired both her personal and professional choices. A registered nurse for 25 years, seven of which were dedicated to school nursing, Michele has committed a significant portion of her professional life to health care. It is perhaps this interest in wellness that influenced Michele’s involvement into a myriad of volunteer opportunities and services, especially in relation to health prevention and education. A notable list of organizations, fundraisers, and community events including Clipper Health, Portsmouth Parent/Teacher Associations and Odyssey of the Mind reveals her devotion to community service.

Michele’s career in real estate began as an aspiration to expand her horizons. The transition from nursing to real estate was relatively easy, she says. She had already thrived in a dynamic work environment and demonstrated skills in dealing with documentation and legal data. Real estate has allowed Michele to expand upon these capabilities by enabling her to work with people from all over the country with the goal of helping them find their dream home.

Real Estate Tip

Michele urges home buyers to get pre-approved by a financial segment. She explains that pre-approval letters are customarily included with an offer. This letter confirms that the buyer is credible and serious. Speaking with a financial segment also provides fundamental education on the loan process and leaves buyers with a better understanding of their potential monthly payments. Many buyers are unaware of the additional fees often included in a monthly payment, such as PMI costs, condo fees, and property taxes. Michele explains that this vital information alleviates many of the typical concerns regarding how much money the buyer should invest. Your agent can suggest some loan officers who have provided positive experiences for past clients.

Relocation Tip

Michele is pleased to report that seacoast residents take pride in their communities. Civic duty is a major priority for people; whether in terms of local government, education, area beautification or historic preservation, residents tend to be active participants in community improvement. Education, often a top priority for newcomers, provides a good example of this dedication. Discovering that this area boasts one of the best school systems in the country comforts them. In fact, according to the Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce, a recent survey rated New Hampshire students fourth in reading and third in math nationwide. "I feel this success directly relates to a strong local commitment to education. It should be encouraging for newcomers to realize that they are making a home in a place where the extent of community pride results in a higher quality of life for all."

Favorite Portsmouth Spot

Everyone knows your name - Michele’s favorite place for dining "with a twist" and good local atmosphere is The Green Monkey. This unique dinner spot offering fine American cuisine and a cozy martini bar immediately feels like home. The menu, prepared by chef and co-owner Phelps Dieck, is fabulous. Grab a table or sit at the bar and have a pleasant conversation with Deb, the other co-owner. She’ll know you by name after only a few visits.
